Integrity
Integrity is the honest principles and ethics that we practise in our daily lives. A moral character of helping one another without any intention for personal gains. It is about being open to each other in order to meet and achieve our goals in everyone’s best interest and succeed in our chosen path.
A brief story of our Journey
Dr. Klyne Smith incorporated YourNextSteps-US in January 2022, after 30 years of helping students prepare for college and obtain jobs both during and after college. Dr. Smith’s vision started while he was still in college; there he realized there were far too many people from his community and extended community who remained unclear on both what is required and how to apply for college. This pattern continued until he started realizing that attending university proved only one step of the process, finding one’s passion and motivation was equally important. Thus, Dr. Smith started focusing on “meeting students where they are”, particularly in ability, life experiences, and maturity; and the concept of college consulting shifted.
in 2012
Dr. Smith realized many of the students he helped gain admittance to college still struggled to find internships, how to proceed to graduate school, or land (and negotiate) the first positions of their careers. This gave rise to his pragmatic method of career counseling. The combination of college counseling and career counseling allowed Dr. Smith to continue mentoring and coaching students for the next decade.
in 2021
Dr. Smith mapped a larger vision: to pay full-tuition for high-potential or low-opportunity students to attend college for 4 years. The program will fund one student in year 1, two students in year 2, three students in year 3, and four students in year 4. Then, the cycle repeats with the intent of moving generations forward academically and vocationally with an emphasis on embracing their life goals while living their most authentic lives.

The coaches and mentors in the organization utilize their vast knowledge, experiences, and credibility to guide youth to transform their passions and value education as a tool to build a life they can hold themselves in high regard; in an inclusive, diverse, and cultural community and learning space.

Dr. Smith recently started the non-profit organization, Your Next Steps-US, focusing on guiding youth to lead a passion-driven life by transforming their passions into education and career while defining their meaning of success. Along with Education Unbound, he works with many other non-profit organizations mentoring students and young adults, STEM training, and life coaching.
